How to Enjoy Lane Swimming
Respect & Space
- Swimmers of all abilities use the pool — please respect everyone’s right to enjoy their swim.
- Choose the lane that matches your speed and feel free to change if your pace changes.
- Keep a safe distance from others and avoid physical contact. If needed, speak politely or ask a Lifeguard for help.
- Our Lifeguards are here to keep everyone safe — please follow their instructions, including lane changes.
Speed, Overtaking & Resting
- Pick a lane based on your stroke and pace.
- Overtake carefully, being aware of oncoming swimmers, or pass at the end of the lane.
- Before pushing off, check for faster swimmers and let them pass.
- If you switch to a slower stroke, consider moving to a slower lane.
- Resting & socialising – if resting, keep to the edge of the lane so others can turn.
- Bring a prefilled water bottle (no glass).
- For longer rests or socialising, please use the side or steps
Direction
- Follow the directional signs and swim on the correct side of the lane.
Equipment
- Follow staff guidance when using equipment.
- Kickboards, paddles and pull buoys may not be suitable during busy times.
