Something new is coming!

A New Look. A New Gym. A New Way to Train.

We’re excited to be investing in a major refurbishment of the gym to create an even better experience for our members. The improvements will include brand-new, state-of-the-art fitness equipment, a refreshed look, and enhancements to the overall training environment.

These upgrades will provide a more modern, comfortable and motivating space for everyone to enjoy. We appreciate your patience and understanding while the work is being carried out and look forward to welcoming you back to a significantly improved facility.

We’re incredibly excited about these improvements and hope you will be too. Thank you for your continued support while we make these changes.

Please see the most frequently asked questions below which we hope will answer any queries that you may have about the refurbishment.

The gym will be closed from 23rd November for 2 weeks. We plan to reopen on 7th December and will keep members updated throughout the refurbishment.

No. Memberships will not be automatically frozen for the duration of the closure and no refunds will be offered, we will be offering use of our site in Stroud during the works and we will have a number of bookable studio slots available for you to continue to train.

Yes! We are happy to offer you use of Active Lifestyles Stroud during the period of closure. We will also offer limited bookable studio slots where you’ll be able to use our studio equipment to complete your workout.

As part of the Dursley refurbishment, we'll be installing an entirely new range of Matrix fitness equipment, giving members access to the latest fitness technology and a wider variety of training options. We'll also be transforming the look and feel of the gym with new flooring, improved lighting, updated décor and enhancements throughout the space to create a fresh, modern and welcoming environment.

We'll be sharing regular updates, project milestones and photos throughout the refurbishment, so keep an eye on our social media channels and refurbishment webpage to follow the transformation and see the new gym taking shape.

Yes! The majority of our programme will continue as normal throughout the refurbishment. All of our studio-based classes and water-based activities will continue to run, giving you plenty of opportunities to stay active while the gym is being improved. The only exception will be our Spin classes, which will be temporarily paused during the closure and will return once the refurbishment is completed.

Personal training sessions within the gym will be paused during the closure. Personal Trainers will contact their clients directly regarding any alternative arrangements where possible.

No. If you are currently within your contracted membership period, the temporary gym closure does not provide an option to cancel your membership early.

We will also be working hard to continue providing as many services and activities as possible during the two-week closure, so there will still be opportunities to stay active with us.

No. Only the gym and spin studio will be closed during the refurbishment. All other areas of the facility will remain open and operate as normal.

While the project has been carefully planned, unforeseen delays can still occur. If this happens, we will inform all members immediately. We have full confidence in our install partners and don’t anticipate any delays.

Regular updates will be shared via emails, social media posts, on our refurbishment page and within the facility. We encourage all members to ensure their contact details are up to date by speaking to our front of house team.

Yes. All of the existing gym equipment will be replaced with brand-new, state-of-the-art equipment. This significant investment will provide members with access to the latest fitness technology, improved functionality and a wider range of training options.

Our aim is to create a more modern, welcoming and enjoyable training environment that supports all fitness levels and helps members get the most from their workouts.

All of the existing equipment has been sold as part of the refurbishment project. The positive news is that the proceeds from the sale have helped fund the purchase of two additional pieces of brand-new equipment, providing even more choice and value for our members when the refurbished gym reopens.

There are no planned changes to opening hours. Members will be informed of when they can return before reopening.

Yes! We can’t wait to share refurbishment updates, images, and progress reports with members as the project progresses, keep an eye out for posters in the centre and website.

No. We're pleased to confirm that funding for the refurbishment has already been secured. This means members will be able to enjoy the benefits of a fully refurbished gym,  without any increase to membership prices as a result of this investment.

Our aim is to enhance the fitness experience for all members while continuing to provide excellent value and high-quality facilities.

Yes, but only slightly. Our car park will remain open and available throughout the refurbishment, with just six parking spaces temporarily reserved for the contractors carrying out the gym improvement works.

Setting aside these spaces will help the project team work safely and efficiently, enabling us to complete the refurbishment and reopen the upgraded gym as quickly as possible.

If the car park is particularly busy, Sainsbury's may provide an alternative parking option, subject to their usual parking terms and restrictions. We appreciate your patience and understanding while these improvements are being completed.
