From children’s and adult swimming lessons to energizing Aqua Aerobics classes, we’ve got you covered. Take part in dedicated lane swimming, Swim Fit sessions, or enjoy our lively Fun Swims. For those aiming to take their skills further, we also offer lifeguard courses. Pool Swimming Sessions
Accessible Swimming
Accessible swim sessions are designed for people with disabilities, additional needs, or those who require assistance in the water. Active Lifestyle Centres have pool hoists to help you in and out of the water if needed. Lifeguards are waiting to help you and your carer (if needed). Carers access this session free of charge. Active Lifestyles Dursley also has a fully functional changing places, change facility.
Inflatable Fun
Open to everyone, this session is a chance to get rid of some excess energy have some fun with your family and friends. Serious swimming this is not. To turn up the fun we will play music during this session. Booking advised.
Lane Swimming
These sessions are for swimmers. The speed of the lane is dictated by the swimmers in the lane.
To make sure you all enjoy your swim we politely ask that you follow the lane swimming etiquette guidelines, which can be found in-centre.
Public Swimming
Open to everyone to enjoy the benefits of submerging yourself in water. Swimming, playing, learning a new skill, or keeping yourself fit. Public swimming sessions are truly for all ages and abilities. Please note children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult.
Senior Swimming
A relaxing session for adults aged 50 and over to swim socially in a lane.
Parent and Toddler
Bring your under 5’s for a swim in a safe environment. This session is exclusive for parents, grandparents, and carers of children under 5 years of age. We will provide small water toys for children to play and build their water confidence. Where applicable swim nappies must be worn.
Aqua Stretch
Our original water fitness class, Aqua Stretch has been carefully developed over the last 30 years to the class it has become today. This class is set to popular music while using the water and, on occasion, equipment to create an effective all-body workout.
Aqua Zumba
This class is fantastic for those who want to tone the core and arms while partying to Latin-based music.
Aqua Tone
A low-impact class set in the deep water. This class focuses on mobility and muscular strengthening exercises. Participants are provided with a belt if needed to help with floatation in deep water.

Swim Fit
Motivational lane swimming with a coach to help you swim to your potential. You’ll build both stamina and speed during these sessions. Please note you must be able to swim to attend Swim Fit.
Introduction to Water Fitness
Suitable for anyone who has been referred to the centre by their physiotherapist or doctor, this 30-minute water class is ideal for those looking to attend an aqua class that provides functional movement. It’s ideal for those who require lower impact activities or are new to fitness.
